Program
The LFCO opens our March concert with Jean Sibelius’s tone poem En Saga. While no specific program has been given, Sibelius called this piece, “an expression of a state of mind,” and “psychologically one of my most profound works.” Regardless of the story, the dramatic moods and scenes in this short tone poem compliment Dvorak’s pastoral, often joyful Symphony No. 8.
Julian Krauthammer, from Highland Park High School joins us for Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 2.
