Beethoven - Symphony No. 9

Program Notes

Schiller’s An Die Freude (Ode to Joy) captivated Beethoven’s imagination for over 30 years. It wasn’t until 1824 that this fascination came to fruition with his monumental Ninth Symphony and changed the history of music. Join the LFCO and voices from Chicago Master Singers and Lux Cantorum Chicago, led by Chorusmaster John Hughes, in the iconic and life-affirming performance of Beethoven’s Symphony Number 9. This giant work calls for a giant stage! This performance will take place at the beautiful James Lumber Performing Arts Center in Grayslake, Illinois. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to hear this special work!
